Curate your life: How intentional choices can shape your life into a masterpiece

You are an artist! You are the master of your own life’s artwork.
You choose the subjects and themes. You choose the materials and the methods. You mold it, sculpt it – create something out of nothing. When you curate your life, creating your own unique masterpiece, you consciously and purposefully choose what goes into it.

Take the artists that their sculptures are shown here as an example, they all went through similar stages of the creation process. They all started with an idea or a creative spark and ended up with a finished artwork. But where they differ is in their process and choices.

Just like you, each artist is a unique individual, carrying a specific DNA made of locations, experiences, genetics, education, knowledge, culture, psyche, and their own point of view. So, although they are all artists expressing themselves, they each do it in a distinctive way that reflects that DNA and that becomes their signature.

Looking at the photos, it is evident how wildly different the sculptures are. Some are made of wood, some of glass or metal. Some are carved, some are molded or assembled. One is Dada, one is abstract, and another is Pop art. Some are colorful, some are monochrome. Some are small while others are huge installations. Each one unique. Each one intentional. Each one a representation of the artist’s curation process.

Whether conscious or subconscious, each artist goes through a curation process. They choose what materials and methods will best represent their chosen subject. They chose what will be their statement and stance on things – are they political? Positive or negative? Do they want to make beautiful things or ugly ones to represent how they see the world? Do they construct or deconstruct? Do they prefer to express themselves through minimalism or through maximalism? Or maybe all they want is just to express themselves.

No matter the choices, the curation process also includes editing – what to add, remove, change, and how to balance it all in a way that forms a finished artwork. And that’s exactly how you curate your own life.

Just like an artist or a curator, you choose what is most important to you.

You choose what you want to focus on, what additions or omissions will make your life better. You choose what you want to have more of in your life - positivity, connection, happiness, excitement, courage, or anything else that suits your values, wishes and goals. You choose if you want it to be balanced or completely wild. The point being – YOU choose!

Today, I ask you to start curating your life. To start being intentional with it, but mostly, I ask you to treat your life as a masterpiece. An artwork to be expressed authentically, curated with love, and admired with reverence (as it should be).

To your success
