Abracadabra: Creating your reality through the magic of words

Words are magic. They are a magical tool, and they can change your life if you know how to use them intentionally.

You use words every day. You use them to speak, read, write, think, and communicate. You use them to express your feelings, to speak your mind, and to share your wisdom and knowledge with the world. So why not use them to create your reality and your dreams?

Our ancestors knew, a long, long time ago, that words are magic. They knew that using words creates one’s reality, and if used intentionally, they can birth miracles. That’s what Abracadabra is all about. It literally means: “I create as I speak”. The expression comes from Aramaic or Hebrew and is an expression of our power to create our reality through our speech command.

There’s a lot to be said about our choice of language and its effects on our lives but today we’ll be focusing on ways to use language to manifest. In my personal life and my years working with clients, I found that there are two very effective (and easy) ways to abracadabra yourself into your dreams: scripting and using affirmations.

Scripting

Scripting is my favorite way to manifest. Being an avid journaler, writing my future into existence is an exercise I highly cherish and enjoy. Simply put, scripting is writing your desired reality and dreams as if they’ve already happened. It is like writing the script to your movie. The best thing about scripting is that it allows you to see the details of your future manifestation in your mind’s eye. You start to feel the joy of what having your dream come true feels like. You start seeing possibilities where, maybe before, there were none. Scripting creates a strong emotional connection to your dream, a very strong visual that you can “screen” to yourself whenever wished for, and it opens the door to ideas and opportunities.

How to script:

  • Choose a dream, a goal, or a wanted outcome.

  • Write about how life is now that you’ve achieved your dream. How does it feel? How do you feel? What are you doing? Where are you? Are there people with you? Who are they?

  • Write in the present or past tense. Writing in those tenses makes your mind think that you have already achieved your goals and are living that reality.

  • Pay attention to intuitive hits that come up during writing. You might get ideas, inspiration or resonate strongly with certain things that you’ve written. Those are the universe’s ways to guide you towards your dreams.

  • Mark or highlight main ideas, feelings and sentences that resonated with you. You can use them to create an action plan, as well as an affirmation and a focus word.

Affirmations

Affirmations (or autosuggestions) are short positive statement sentences that suggest to your mind a wanted outcome or a new belief. They are a fun, easy way to tell your brain to start working on making your desired dreams a reality.

Here are some examples:

I am enough.

I am abundant.

I am happy and fulfilled now that I work in my dream job.

I am grateful for living in my dream home. Life in it is blissful.

My health is improving every day. I am getting stronger and more radiant by the minute.

How to create an affirmation:

  • Choose a dream, a wanted outcome, or a way you wish to feel.

  • Think or journal about it to get an idea of what you want.

  • Your affirmations should start with “I” or “My”.

  • Keep them short and to the point.

  • Write your affirmation in the present tense, and in positive language.

  • Have fun with it. Try a few affirmations, say them out loud and choose the one that feels most right to you.

  • You can say them throughout the day, put them on your phone’s lock screen or write them down everyday in your journal. The idea is to use them frequently so your mind starts believing them and will make them a reality.

I hope you give these amazing manifesting techniques a try, bringing magic into your life through your words.

To your success
