Unleashing the Warrior Within: 7 Lessons on Courage to Ignite Your Inner Fire!

The world we live in values conformity, caution and not rattling cages. In between society telling us what is expected of us, our primal fears, and our brain’s survival mechanisms it’s easy to choose to stay where we feel comfortable and safe, but that also means that we lose some important parts of ourselves and of life. Choosing to be courageous opens up a whole new opportunity for self discovery, growth and authenticity.

On my, and my clients’, journey to courage, I’ve learned that courage is not reserved only to mythological heroes, but is actually a quality we all have inside us. You have it too.

Here are 7 of the most important lessons I learnt about courage that can help you too:

Embracing fear means embracing growth

Courage means being afraid and doing it anyway, and the more you do what you’re afraid of the less scary it gets. When you do the things that push your comfort zone you allow for expansion and learning from new experiences that probably would have never happened if you weren’t courageous to begin with.

Fail forward, learn always

Failure is not the end. In fact, when you are in a growth mindset, you understand that there is no such thing as failing, because failing in something just means that you have a learning opportunity and that you need to readjust your approach. It takes courage to get up and continue, but that’s also what will create your success.

Courage means being vulnerable

Opening your heart means that you allow connection, closeness, and love to be a part of your life. By being vulnerable you take your power back, and you inspire others to do the same.

Courage is authenticity

The willingness to be yourself without caring what others think or say takes courage. When you are authentically yourself, not only do you feel better, but you attract people and experiences that are more aligned with your true self. You also inspire others to be more authentic themselves. (Side note: people will always have something to say or criticize you for, no matter if you’re authentic or not, so why not just live your life as you wish and ignore them? Let them do their thing while you enjoy life to the fullest).

Courage builds inner strength

Life will throw some unexpected challenges your way. Facing them and choosing how to bounce back from them builds your resilience and defines your character. It takes courage to go through these times and deal with their aftermaths. That’s also what builds your inner strength and allows you to deal with these times better when they arise in the future.

Courage takes learning

Most of us are not born with the courage to fight society’s rules or our family’s expectations, to say no when we don’t feel like doing something, to bare our souls or face life’s challenges with ease and grace. It all takes practice. Start with the small things, do one thing at a time and build on it. The more you’ll do things that take courage the more courageous you’ll be.

The most important lesson on courage is that To be courageous is to choose your own happiness.

I hope that today you’ll choose to be courageous and prioritize your personal growth and happiness

To your success
